First Attempt at Meshing & Blah-blah

So, this is my first-attempt at meshing something in Milkshape.

I made it because I reeeeally needed a leg-cast for my SIFF film (and I couldn't find one for TS3 anywhere). It's not fancy (it's just a cylinder that I squished and pulled a bit  :3 )

It's essentially like a giant sock.  I got mega-lazy with the texture too, but the texture isn't terribly important for my film. Ehhhhhhh.

Progress on my SIFF film is going quite poorly, still stuck on the animation phase (I still have at least 10-15 more custom animations to make in Blender).

It doesn't help that I'm getting distracted by this epic animation book I just bought (or maybe it does?).

Hopefully my next post will be more productive. I'll stop whinging now.

  1. Aw! You can do it! And that's an awesome start on the cast! You could always just do your texture as an overlay, or even blend it with your specular or multiplier. I had to do that with the solocup, granted I didn't actually do the mesh, so that's so cool that you meshed it! And for real? Why have crutches without a cast? Super useful!

Did you use a tutorial for the meshing?

    1. Thanks! Yeah, I was thinking of making an overlay to make it easier for myself. All I did was make a solid-grey, multiplier *embarrassed*.

And I agree, it just looked silly without a cast (I had already made an short walking animation for the crutches, but it demanded a cast, lol)

I "sorta" used a tutorial for the mesh. I watched this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OsunCbbf_3Q&list=WLB5WMxb9XIxXIhq1fcdvtcz0tgQ546Jqx then I just clicked around and experimented with the rest. Drawing a cylinder worked well, because it was halfway there anyway, lol.
